Sometimes being in your room a lot can start making it feel dull and plain. It happened to me once , so I spiced it up with posters and photos of me and my friends. Let's get started shall we.
1. Add some fresh flowers There's nothing better than waking up to fresh-smelling flowers in the morning. Try a ceramic vase or glass bottle. A bunch of colourful flowers would look amazing ! 2. Drape necklaces over you room My sister does it on her desk and it looks fabulous. You can also do it on photo frames and anything else you can think of. 3. Moroccan Pouffe Add a colourful/bright Moroccan Pouffe to your room to glam it up and add colour. They're also perfect to lounge around on when you have friends over and they're definitely more stylish than the traditional beanbag. 6. Hide all the messy stuff Buy decorative boxes to store your magazines and schoolwork. Some come really cheap too ! 7. Dress up a plain lampshade Buy some plain white lamps and Google stencil pattern. Trace the pattern onto tracing paper, and then use it to sponge a coloured acrylic paint onto the lampshade. You can also attach fringing with double-sided sticky tape. 8.Throw a rug Throw Rugs add texture and colour to the end of your bed and can dress up a vintage chair. 9. Set the mood Candles look great in your bedroom and create a relaxing atmosphere for you to chill out after school. Always remember to blow them out afterwards though. 10. DIY Bedhead A beautiful bedhead is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Choose a fabric to match your bed linen or strike up a contrast with a pattern. Use a staple gun to staple the fabric flat onto a long, black canvas. 11. Turn your jewellery tree into a statement piece Display your best pieces of jewellery on a jewellery tree. These stop your necklaces from getting all tangled up - practical and pretty. 12. The land of the Dreams Hang a beautiful dreamcatcher from your ceiling or on your wall by your bedroom window. 13. Add a dash of Glam Sequins are an easy way to add a bit of sparkle to your room. They go almost with any pattern. 14. Wall Décor White ceramic doves are so cute to hang from your ceiling. I’m dying for some of these ! Team with a plain white wall perfect blending. 15. Create a mini Gallery Turn a boring wall into your very own mini gallery full of photos of your friends and family. It looks heaps effective when you use different frames. 16. Cover up with Posters All over my room right now. You can find posters from various magazines, or even try ripping out fashion pages from old magazines to create a layered collage on your wall. I’ve also done that, looks classy :3 17. Sweet Dreams Lavender dream bags are so relaxing – you’ll be sleeping like a baby in no time ! 18. Wallpapers column If you don’t have space to put a bedhead in, use a column of decorative paper or wallpaper. Hang it horizontally or vertically to create a statement piece. 19. Store your shoes Instead of just flinging your pricey heels into the bottom of your wardrobe, sore them in shoe cube. It’ll make your room uber tidy. 20. Add some inspiration Find your favourite quote or saying and paint it on display on a canvas board. It’s great motivation to get out of bed in the morning. 21. Decorative Cushions When choosing cushions, keep your colour palette in mind. Choose pillows in pattern and neutral colours, and layer them on you bed. This creates some visual interest, especially against a plan bedspread.
DIY – JuJu Hat JuJu hats are the cutest things ever! (Pictured above the pink and white bed.) To make your own, grab some thick yarn, tick cardboard and double-sided tape. Place a large dinner plate on the cardboard and trace around its circumference. Cut along the line, plus a one-inch hole in the centre. Cut pieces of yarn a bit longer than the diameter of your circle. Gather them into a bundle and tie it in the middle with another piece of yarn. Divide both sides of the bundle in half to form an X shape. Cut some ore pieces of yarn (a bit shorter than the first), bundle together and place on the X. Tie around the centre. Turn the yarn upside down so the knots are facing up. Place the cardboard on top and pull the ends of the ties through the hole, then make a knot to create a loop for hanging. Turn back over and secure the ends of the yarn to the edge of the cardboard with double-sided tape. There you have your cute JuJu Hat ready to hang up in your room !
